About the Event

This is the annual riding clinic held by the LDX Rally/Heart of Texas Rally RM.  It is designed for rally rookies but is open to anyone.  Attendees will start at 7am and receive a basic period of instruction on what a LD rally is, some rider safety concerns when conducting long-distance rides, and some basic rally concepts that will help a new rider with routing and ride planning.  After developing a short route, riders will go forth for a 4-hour mini-rally, testing out their new skills and getting first-hand familiarity with the rally concept.  Upon completion, they will return to the start (RM's house in Frisco, details will be sent to registered riders later) and will be scored.  After scoring, there will be a brief lessons-learned session and then riders are free to stick around for more talk or can go.  Honestly, you can come and go whenever you want.  This year, when the rookie riders are out riding the practice rally, Paul will share some very, very basic spreadsheet skills that might help a more experienced rider with route planning on the clock.  If you attend for that, you will be paired with a rookie to provide coaching at the beginning of the class.  Ben Ernst, you don't need help with routing, so don't ask.
